Excerpt:
In late 1949, family matched pop up with mom. He flew to New York to meet her … twice, actually, because the first time, she wasn’t even there!
After 16 days, he said “Well, I know.” (He meant, he knew that she was ‘the one.’)
Mom said, “I need more time.”
He said, “Well, hurry up. I need to get back to my cows,” and pulled out some photos of the farm.
“Put those away,” Mom shot back. “I don’t want to marry you for the cows.”
It was too late, though. She was hooked.
